Job offer comparison calculator
Two offers with the same CTC can differ by lakhs in real value once structure, bonuses, equity, and perks are counted. This tool computes each offer's take-home under identical tax settings and weighs the benefits honestly.
Compare my offersWhat it means
Effective annual value = take-home pay + weighted benefits. Cash (joining bonus) counts at face value; deferred equity (ESOP vesting) is discounted for vesting risk and illiquidity; perks (health cover, meal cards) count slightly below their cash cost.
The formula
Value = Net(offer) + 1.0×cash + 0.7×deferred + 0.9×perks
Every offer runs through the full tax pipeline with your regime, state, and deductions — so a structure-heavy offer is judged on what actually reaches you, and the weights are visible config, not hidden judgment.
Worked example
- Offer A: ₹24L flat. Offer B: ₹21L + ₹2L joining bonus + ₹3L/yr ESOPs.
- B's paper total is higher; after tax and the 0.7 equity discount, the ranking can flip either way.
- The tool prints both computations and warns when a lead depends on unvested equity.
How to use it
- 1Enter 2-5 offers. CTC, joining bonus, annual ESOP vesting, health cover, meal card.
- 2Keep your tax settings. Regime, state, and deductions apply identically to every offer.
- 3Read the ranking. Effective annual value with recommendations, including equity-risk warnings.
Frequently asked questions
Should ESOPs count at face value?
No — vesting risk, illiquidity, and taxation on exercise mean ₹1 of promised equity is worth less than ₹1 of salary today. This tool discounts deferred equity to 70% by default, and the weight is visible and adjustable in config.
Why does the same CTC give different take-home across offers?
Structure: a higher basic raises PF and gratuity (locked value), while allowance-heavy structures raise immediate cash. Both offers run through the identical tax pipeline so the difference is real, not rounding.
How many offers can I compare?
Two to five at once, each with its own bonus, equity, and perks.
